Open Google Sheets, click on the "Extensions" menu, select "Add-ons", and then "Get add-ons". Search for "Airtable to Sheets" and install it. Once installed, you can access it from the right panel sidebar.

When you open the add-on for the first time, click 'Connect' to start Airtable's OAuth flow. You'll be redirected to Airtable to authorize access. Select the bases you want the add-on to access and confirm. Your OAuth token is stored securely in Google's PropertiesService.

You can disconnect your current Airtable account from the menu in the add-on. Then reconnect using any Airtable account you want. Make sure you are logged into the desired Airtable account in your browser before reconnecting.

If you encounter authentication issues, try the 'Reconnect' button in the add-on. Airtable OAuth tokens expire after 60 days if not refreshed. If your token has expired, reconnecting will generate a fresh one. If problems persist, use 'Disconnect' and connect again.

The add-on requests four Airtable OAuth scopes: schema.bases:read for base, table, field, and view structure, data.records:read for the records you sync, data.records:write for pushing your Sheet edits back when you turn on two-way sync, and webhook:manage for registering and removing webhooks when you turn on live sync. You choose which bases to share during the OAuth consent screen. Airtable is only written to for sheets where you turned on two-way sync yourself.

You can sync records from any base, table, or view. All field types are supported: text, numbers, dates, checkboxes, single select, multi-select, linked records, attachments, collaborators, formulas, rollups, lookups, and more.

The Airtable API returns records in pages of 100. The add-on handles pagination automatically. There is no hard record limit, so the add-on will sync all records in your selected table or view. Very large tables may take longer on the first sync.

Manual sync is available on all plans. Click sync whenever you need fresh data. Scheduled syncs on Pro and Business run every 3 hours automatically. Airtable's API rate limit is 5 requests per second per base, so syncs are paced accordingly.

Yes. You can set up syncs from multiple bases into different sheets within the same spreadsheet, or across different spreadsheets entirely.

Nothing breaks. The add-on stores Airtable field IDs in a protected system row (row 1), so it maps by field ID rather than field name. When you rename a field in Airtable, the column header updates on the next sync but the data mapping stays intact.

Yes. Views let you sync a filtered and sorted subset of your table. If your view only shows records with a specific status or tag, only those records will appear in your sheet.

For scheduled syncs, use the 'Repair Scheduled Sync' option on the homepage. If your Airtable token expired, use 'Reconnect' to refresh it. You can also delete the sync and create a new one.

We recommend not deleting or rearranging columns in synced sheets, as the sync relies on field ID metadata in the header rows. You can safely resize and hide columns. For custom views, create a new sheet that references the synced data using QUERY, FILTER, or other Google Sheets functions.

Airtable to Sheets operates within the Google Workspace security model and only accesses the data you explicitly authorize through Airtable's OAuth consent screen. No data is stored outside of your Google account. Your OAuth token is encrypted and protected by Google; we never have access to it.

The add-on requires permission to read and write to spreadsheets where you install it, to make external requests to Airtable's API, to use Script Properties for storing your sync configuration, and to create time-based triggers for scheduled syncs.
